Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
PCIT has been found through research to be one of the most effective programs available for the treatment of behavioral issues in children 2-8 years old. Parents have reported the effects of PCIT to be "life-changing", and some parents have even reported seeing remarkable changes in their child "over-night." Both Dr. Michener and Dr. Edwards have specialized training in this highly effective parenting program.
Assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders
At Made for Kids, we conduct specialized and comprehensive assessments for children who may have Autism Spectrum Disorders. Evaluations can be conducted with children as young as 18 months old. As part of the assessment process, we use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), which is considered the industry's gold-standard approach for the assessment of Autism.
Assessment of AD/HD or ADD
We conduct specialized assessments for children who may have AD/HD or ADD. As part of this process we conduct an initial interview, conduct formal observations of the child's behavior, and conduct neuropsychological testing. As part of the feedback process, we provide detailed recommendations for how to help your child regulate attention, manage behavior at home, and be more successful at school.
Assessment of Learning Disabilities
Made for Kids, Inc provides specialized assessments for children with suspected Learning Disabilities, including (but not limited to) reading, math, and writing disabilities. Our assessment processes involve those tests and methods considered to be "best practice" for the evaluation of Learning Disabilities. We also assist in identifying academic accommodations that may help your child be more successful at school.
Friendship Group for Kids
This 5-week "Friendship Group" is for children ages 6-13
Group Activities Include: -How to be a friend -Listening Skills -Understanding Body Language -Conflict Management
*Names are taken for groups on an ongoing basis. As soon as enough group members are registered, a new group starts.
Who Are The Group Facilitators? Dr. Kristen Michener and/or Dr. Anna Edwards, Clinical Psychologists
When Will The Groups Occur? Dates and times are based on the number of children enrolled and the availability of interested participants. Day and evening groups will be available.
How Long Will The Groups Last? Groups will last for 5 weeks and will be 1 1/2 hours each.
How Much Do The Groups Cost? Groups are $40.00 per person per group (i.e., $200 for a 5-week series). |
